Mason's 4th Birthday

We have a four year old! We had so much fun celebrating Mason's 4th birthday. Mason went to school for the first part of his birthday. We took homemade sugar cookies with sprinkles so his class could have a little party for him. Ms. Cookie (his teacher) made him a birthday crown to wear for his special day. Then Rodney took off work for the rest of the day and we all went to pick up Mason from school. Off we went to ride the Austin Duck Tour! Mason had seen it driving around town a few times, and when we told him that it was a bus that turned into a boat, he was smitten. So we decided it was the perfect thing to do for his birthday.

The tour was great, and to my surprise Mason actually listened to what the driver was saying about Austin as we drove around town. And then the moment happened, the bus drove into the water (with a huge splash) and turned into a boat. The driver then asked Mason if he wanted to drive the boat, so Mason drove about 45 tourists around Lake Austin. He was so happy!

The boat tour was a huge success! Afterwards we celebrated more with Mac and Cheese and blue Jello at Luby's, his favorite meal!

His birthday party was the following weekend. It was time to get some construction work done around this new house. Rodney built some amazing cardboard houses for the kids to paint and play in. We also had a rock pile with tons of buckets, bulldozers and diggers. The kids seemed to have a blast and Mason was loving it.

Overall, it was a wonderful birthday. I can't believe my baby is four years old. He is such a sweet little boy. You can really see his wheels turning lately, and he comes up with the most amazing questions that often stump Rodney and I. He is learning so much in school, and starting to become a little more independent each day. And he is the most amazing big brother, Travis is one lucky almost two year old:)

Happy Birthday Mason!!
